Review after eating multiple times in the last few months:
Madhuram is the real deal. If you're craving South Indian food that's both authentic and delicious, look no further.
We have been ordering their curry leaves chicken and pepper fry chicken, and both are mind-blowing and consistent in taste. The chicken is always cooked to perfection in both dishes, and the flavors are just incredible. The curry leaves chicken had a unique, fragrant taste that I hadn't experienced before, and the pepper fry chicken had a nice kick that was balanced by the sweetness of the onions and peppers.
And let's not forget the egg biryani! This is the real star of the show at least for my kid. The rice. The Malabar Kerala Paratha is the perfect accompaniment, offering a crispy, flaky contrast to the richness of curry leaves chicken.
Overall, It is always an amazing experience eating from Madhuram. The food is incredible and the service is great. The staff is friendly and attentive, and they are happy to answer any questions I had about the menu. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves South Indian cuisine.
Original review:
We ordered food here for the first time when one of our friends recommended this place. We loved their Chicken Leaf Curry, Chicken Pepper Fry, Malabar Parantha and Egg Biryani. They are super tasty.. we probably eat at this place again and repeat the order. The chicken was soft and tender... I am sure it was cooked fresh. The atmosphere was good too when I went to pick the order. Quite a spacious place. Service and hospitality was great too, and the food was well packed too.
We ordered a Veg Thali, and their specials Fish pollichathu with Kappa and Kerala prawns fry (later replaced by chicken 65).

In the Thali, Aviyal and Pulissery were the highlights. They were pretty good 💯
Dislike: Both the specials were meh! It's hard to ruin Kappa (no shallots and green chilli used and you have to mash them with the spices, it cannot be sprinkled on top) and the fish pollichathu was just OK, maybe the salmon plus the spice they use doesn't go together.
Prawn fry was bad, it was very oily and lacked balanced flavors. Later the owner gracefully replaced it with chicken 65 but it was a chicken 65 without curry leaves [total injustice:)]
The staff and service is excellent, 5 star for that. Super courteous.
Disclaimer: I am a Malayali, hence the extra criticism. I went with a lot of expectations as there aren't many Kerala restaurants in the Bay area.
I had been wanting to check out this place for a long time and decided to do a take out as I was in the area. Ordered a mutton biryani and pepper chicken fry to go! Both dishes were delicious and did not disappoint.
Love the hot idli, chutney and sambar. The service was quick. I didn't like the Mysore Masala Dose taste. It was not authentic compared to our Karnataka style but hands down to the soft Idlis. There is no outdoor seating here.
Madhuram was offers scrumptious kothu paratha, fish fry, fish curry, biryani and Gulab jamun. The staff were extremely friendly and quick at service. The area seems to be clean. Please confirm vegetarian dishes before tasting. The salad for biryani is made of chicken. The biryani felt more on a pulav end although it was tasty.
I loved this place !
For people not from south India this not a Hyderabad or Andhra place, it’s a kerala food and so mind you if you want that face Redding fire food - this is NOT THE PLACE .
The food here is homely, well cooked and perfect blend of spices and flavors.
We ordered chicken 65 ( very crispy ), varutharacha curry and Malabar paratha and everything was very nice. Malabar paratha was the best I have had in Bay Area, meat was well cooked and mango lassi was also very subtle and not too sweet.
Ambience is decent no frills attached, the staff ( especially the young guy managing ) are delightful, they bring something which is missing in almost all Indian places in Bay Area - genuine smile and service. Kudos !!
Definitely will go again .
Tasty South Indian food.. esp Kerala food.. I ordered Appam, parotta, veg korma, kappa & fish polichathu.. awesome taste.. the texture of Appam and parotta was amazing. So soft and crispy. fish polichathu was neatly served and the color of it, attracted me to taste it. Which was yummy.. customer service was really good..
Very authentic Tamil Nadu and Kerala cuisine. Enjoyed everything we ordered from here Madhuram Fish Curry, Fish Pollichathu with Kappa and Chicken Kothu Parotta, all had the right spice and flavor. But our favorites were Chicken Kothu Parotta and Madhuram Fish Curry both tasted very authentic and felt like having at home. Portion size is something which needs attention. We highly recommend this restaurant. Can't wait to try more from their menu. Hope they continue serving quality food and stay consistent with the flavor and freshness.
